PRODUCTION

DIRECTOR OF BREWING OPERATIONS 

You will oversee production schedules and ensure implementation of all standard operating procedures to maintain consistency, quality, and efficiency throughout the production process. As part of the management team, you will work with other area leaders to develop and achieve the brewery wide goals. This position reports directly to the President.

Responsibilities:   

  • Leads all day-to-day activities necessary to produce the highest quality and consistent beers.
  • Manage the work environment that is safe for all employees and visitors implementing procedures, conducting trainings, and addressing and curing safety deficiencies.
  • Manage brewhouse, cellar and packaging operations, including utilities, raw materials, safety, personnel and training and maintenance.
  • Performing brewery audits to ensure quality, consistency, and repeatability of brewing.
  • Facilitates future growth of the brewery through continuous optimization of current processes.
  • Ensure that the production team adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures while improving when applicable.
  • Manage, mentor and train production team to ensure career growth and the production of great beer.
  • Identify areas of increased operational efficiencies and drive continuous improvement culture throughout production team.
  • Develop performance and productivity metrics for all production areas.
  • Oversee the management and expansion of clean barrel-aging and spontaneous beer programs.
  • Work with QC / QA department to ensure highest quality beer and trouble shoot any production issues.
  • Leverage our ERP system to streamline data collection process.
  • Identify and correct production bottlenecks and assist in managing equipment selection required to execute growth initiatives.
  • Work with President, & Director of Sales and Marketing on production planning, forecasting, and budgeting.

Qualifications:   

  • 5+ years as a senior level production manager at a rapidly growing 25,000bbl+ production brewery.
  • 5+ years managing, training and motivating a team of 10 or more employees.
  • 10+ years in the brewing industry.
  • Experience using centrifuge, steam boiler and automated packaging systems.
  • Experience with new equipment selection and installation; working with facilities team, engineers, contractors to coordinate and oversea new equipment installation and commissioning.
  • Degree in Brewing Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the proven ability to lead and motivate a team and maintain a positive morale in the workforce.
  • Experience successfully working within management group on strategic goals and initiatives.
  • An understanding of Laboratory Operations / Quality Control procedures.
  • Self-motivated with high level attention to detail.
  • Passion for craft beer and a deep understanding of the industry.

BREWER

We are looking for full time Brewer to add to our growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Strict adherence to production and safety SOPs.
  • Production of wort that falls into the required specifications.
  • Monitoring fermentation temperature and activity.
  • Maintaining proper and accurate brew house records.
  • Maintaining brew house and milling cleanliness and organization
  • CIP/SIP of all brewery vessels
  • Wort and beer transfer
  • Yeast harvest, pitching and health management
  • Fermentation monitoring
  • Operating the centrifuge
  • Strict adherence to sanitary and record-keeping standards
  • Basic facilities maintenance
  • Manual cleaning of brewery equipment and parts
  • Assist management in assuring all production employees are always operating within specified safety SOP’s.
  • Assist in clean and sour barrel-aging program as needed
  • Contribute to pilot brewing program

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of proven brewing experience in a production/packaging brewery including wort creation on 10+ barrel brewing system

PACKAGING OPERATOR

We are looking for a full time Packaging Operator to add to our growing team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all packaging activity is done according to its SOP.
  • Properly clean and fill kegs.
  • Assist in canning utilizing the Wild Goose canning line and bottling on the Meheen bottling line.
  • Build and pack cased for cans and bottles.
  • Maintain proper packaging records and logs.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all packaging equipment,

DISTRIBUTION

WHOLESALE DELIVERY DRIVER

We are looking to add a full time Wholesale Delivery Driver to our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Loading the truck each morning according to the invoices assigned to your route, and double checking for accuracy to ensure correct delivery and maximize efficiency
  • Safe and timely delivery to customers within, to the extent possible, their preferred delivery times
  • Delivery directly into cold storage with the signature of an authorized bar/restaurant employee for proof of delivery, and accurate calculation of final invoice amount based on keg credits and tap handle deposits
  • Retrieval of all empty kegs including a general awareness of keg deficits (i.e. consistently delivering more kegs than there are empties to be returned) or keg hoarding (holding onto or cellaring “vintage” kegs)
  • Continued communication with supervisor to make aware of any impending or ongoing issues with customers.
  • Properly securing both empty and full kegs in the truck to prevent damage to interior of box
  • Operating the vehicle in a safe manner at all times
  • Responsible for proper service, maintenance, and repair of trucks.
  • Bi-weekly exterior washing and interior cleaning for all trucks including front cab and box.
  • Accurate and up to date mileage log as well as gas and other expenditures

HOSPITALITY

TASTING ROOM MANAGER

Kane currently has an opening for a full-time TASTING ROOM MANAGER. The Tasting Room Manager will create a welcoming environment, by creating a positive & comforting atmosphere in a clean, organized & well-maintained space. They will possess detailed knowledge of all available Kane products and supervise the Assistant Tasting Room Manager and part-time Tasting Room Associates who educate our customers on the brand & history of Kane and the craft-brewing process. This role will be multi-faceted, focusing on the day-to-day operations of the tasting room while also setting and maintaining the highest standards of service. The ideal candidate will have a hospitality background, be a natural leader with a keen eye for detail and a passion for craft beer culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily tasting room operations ensuring tasting room is ready to go for each shift, merchandise is stocked and displayed, beer cooler is filled, draft system is ready for operation, all onsite menus are updated, supplies are available, bathroom is clean and stocked, etc.
  • Manage the release of new beers, coordinating with leadership, operations and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution – maintaining a stocked cold box, merchandise, and “to-go” beer.
  • Thorough understanding of the operation and maintenance of the draft system to ensure proper beer service. Work with Facilities team to ensure lines are cleaned regularly.
  • Maintain retail POS systems, including correct pricing and inventory levels, ensure registers are opened and closed correctly and all cash and tips are accounted accurately.
  • Responsible for ordering all supplies to make sure the tasting room can run smoothly.
  • Manage a 10–15-person part-time tasting room staff, all Kane policies and procedures, training them on beer knowledge, Kane product knowledge and history, draft beer service, and excellent customer service.
  • Set the standard for world-class service, fostering a culture of excellence and hospitality. Be open to customer feedback, always aiming to enhance the guest experience.
  • Assist in planning and day of execution for all special events.
  • Plan work schedule months in advance, ensuring all shifts are filled and considering all additional hours for holidays and special events.
  • Respond to all email inquiries regarding the tasting room or retail operation.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams for reorders on merchandise and beers to ensure we have the products needed to fulfill customer orders.
  • Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of all Retail spaces including merchandise room, tasting room bathrooms and stock closest and break room.

HOSPITALITY ASSOCIATE – PART TIME

Kane Brewing is currently seeking a Part-Time Hospitality Associate. Hospitality Associates pour beer in our Tasting Room and work the retail counter selling beer and merchandise to go. Required work hours are one shift each on Saturday and Sunday. Approximate hours per weekend: 10 – 16 hours.

IMPORTANT: If you already have a full or part-time position with a wholesale distributor of alcohol or a bar/restaurant and are looking for extra hours, please do not apply.  We cannot hire across tiers of the three-tier alcohol distribution system.
